IRS Representation
Dealing with the IRS can be stressful. Whether you are facing an audit, dealing with a tax levy, or sorting out tax issues related to a personal or business situation, ensuring your compliance with income tax laws can be very confusing. The mere contact by an IRS agent can be extremely intimidating.
We are committed to leveling the playing field and removing the stress for clients who need professional help in resolving complicated income tax issues. We realize that working directly with the IRS is time consuming and confusing. We have the in-depth knowledge and experience it takes to work through and resolve the most complex tax issues.
Offer in Compromise
When a taxpayer is facing an income tax debt that is so overwhelming that it is unlikely that the complete repayment will ever be made, the IRS will sometimes agree to accept less than the total amount owed. This type of agreement is called an “Offer in Compromise”(OIC). If the IRS accepts an OIC, the taxpayer is relieved from paying the full amount owed to the IRS. The taxpayer is required to file and pay all taxes for five years after the offer is accepted.
We have the experience to evaluate the taxpayer’s financial situation to determine if it is appropriate to make an OIC to settle outstanding income tax debt. We will carefully analyze your tax obligations vs. your true ability to pay those obligations. In cases where the OIC approach is ideal for the taxpayer, we will use our expertise to work with the IRS in order for the taxpayer to receive much needed relief and be given a fresh start.
Installment Agreements
In cases where the taxpayer has the ability to pay the IRS debt, yet is unable to make full payment all at once, the IRS will allow for payments to be made in installments.
Our first focus will be to file all tax returns timely in order to avoid failure to file penalties. After the returns are filed, if it is not possible to make the full payment immediately, we will work with the IRS on the client’s behalf to set up an installment agreement that will allow the taxpayer to pay the outstanding balance without creating financial hardship. When the taxpayer adheres to the installment agreement, the IRS will not enforce collection actions.

Tax Penalty Abatement
When income taxes are not paid in a timely manner, the IRS will often assess penalties and interest on the outstanding balance. The interest is required by law and will continue to accrue until the balance is paid in full. The IRS has some flexibility with the assessed penalties and will consider granting relief in certain circumstances.
We will evaluate each situation and work on the taxpayer’s behalf to show a reasonable cause for the taxes not being paid timely. Our professional staff will prepare the request for the penalty abatement. We have enjoyed consistent success with getting tax penalties abated and thereby granting much needed financial relief for our clients.
IRS Audits
When a taxpayer receives a notice that their tax return has been selected for audit, they are usually intimidated and fearful that they have violated a government regulation.
Our tax preparation techniques are geared toward making sure that the tax return will withstand an IRS examination. In the event that a client’s tax return is selected for examination, we will work with the client to gather all of the required documentation needed to support income, deductions and credits and provide complete IRS representation for the client through the completion of the audit.
